Shot cottons are a type of weave that read as a solid.
Peppered Cottons created by Pepper Cory for Studio E fabrics are yarn-dyed shot cottons woven using two different colors of thread along the warp and along the weft. When the two different colors are woven together, it gives the fabric a unique shimmer effect. As the fabric moves, it changes in appearance slightly and beautifully.
These shot cottons are a heavier weight and more substantial than others on the market, yet soft and luxurious making them a favorite among quilters.
